If We Can’t Trot The Globe, We’ll See The Globetrotters Instead

GlobetrottersThe Kid and I had a blast yesterday! I got up and was able to get my sprints and Thing Two walk out of the way. We had fun stuff to accomplish after the To Dos got done. We saw the Harlem Globetrotters! That was pretty cool. They were really big when I was growing up. I think they even had a cartoon show at one point.

The Kid had never heard of them and I had never seen them so we weren’t sure what to expect. It was very worth it. They love what they’re doing and you can see the joy on their faces. The ball skills are wild and just fun to sit and watch them go. They can even make baskets from on their knees, center court, facing away from the net. The best part was sharing it with The Kid and hearing her laugh.

I never knew they had a mascot – Globie. No cheerleaders though. As a side note: I was really impressed at the food selections at the AAC… and the freakishly clean bathrooms! They had the usual options but they also had Lara Bars, apples, bananas, and things like that to buy. It made me smile even if it was $5.50 for that Lara Bar. After the game, we walked around the West End, ate, and watched the street entertainers.

Week in ReviewAs we were leaving, we got to drive past the grassy knoll and over the fateful Xs on the street where Kennedy was shot. We’ve been to the museum before and wandered the area, but this was the first time driving over the spot. It was kind of eery in a way. Shudder. Moving on…

In case you missed the excitement this week:

I can’t believe January is winding down already! How are you doing on your goals for 2012? Are you almost 1/12th of the way there? 🙂
