What’s Better Than Coffee or a Protein Shake?

If you’ve been reading for any period of time, you know that I love coffee. Just about any kind from black coffee to lattes to fancy mochas. I love my protein shakes too. What better way to start my day than with… a coffee protein shake! I actually created this recipe on the fly cause that’s just how I roll now. 😉

Cappuccino SmoothieActually it was due to pure cheapness on my part. I made my coffee the other morning as usual and got busy doing other things around the house. By the time I realized I hadn’t drunk it, it was sitting there sad and cold. I didn’t want to waste it and was planning to make a protein shake.

Bam! Creativity struck and I combined two treats in one. I used vanilla protein powder since that’s what I had open but this would work well with chocolate too.

Cappuccino Smoothie

  • 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
  • 8 oz cold coffee
  • 4 – 6 ice cubes
  • Sprinkle of unsweetened cocoa

Mix the first 3 ingredients in a Magic Bullet or blender. Sprinkle the cocoa on top and enjoy!

I took a moment to take a fancy picture of the shake for you. I was all excited to set things up outside in the sunlight for perfect lighting and I even had the pool as a calming background. Then the condensation from the cold shake and the hot air ruined it. It looks all steamy. Someday I’ll figure this picture taking thing out. Until then you’ll just have to laugh along with me at my attempts.
